A display of orchestral fireworks brings the great Boulez Day to a close. The first round will be set off by Wolfgang Rihm, whose Gruss-Moment complements Fusées , a work he wrote to mark Boulez’s 60thbirthday. György Kurtág also numbers among the well-wishers. There will be new works by Samy Moussa and Piotr Peszat, the creation of which has been guided by Pierre Boulez over a two-year period. And the program will end with Notations, a major work of Boulez. It will be heard both in its orchestral guise and in the original piano version.
